This practice is built for women who want a genuine therapeutic relationship, longitudinal care, and a provider who brings both medical depth and psychiatric nuance to every appointment. Care here is deliberate, collaborative, and guided by your clinical needs, not by insurance timelines or high-volume practice pressures. This is a fully telehealth practice serving women throughout Colorado from the Front Range to the Western Slope.
I completed my Family and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner training at Duke University. Following this training, I served in the United States Air Force, where I worked in Family Medicine and developed a strong foundation in disciplined clinical practice, systems-based care, and decision-making in complex environments. That experience continues to shape how I approach patient care with clarity, accountability, and respect for structure.
Since 2016, I have practiced as a Hospitalist at Montrose Hospital, including ICU coverage. Working in inpatient and critical care settings has reinforced the importance of recognizing medical contributors to psychiatric symptoms, managing complexity, and providing thoughtful, measured care rather than reactive treatment. It has also deepened my appreciation for continuity and prevention intervening early and appropriately to avoid escalation whenever possible.
I later completed my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner training at Liberty University, integrating my medical background with specialized psychiatric training. In my psychiatric practice, I focus on careful assessment, diagnostic clarity, and medication management that evolves over time.
Lisa Peterson is a triple board-certified nurse practitioner with specialized training across family medicine, acute care, and psychiatric mental health.
